Paco Romane is the host/producer of The Romane Event every month. Paco performs all around the country and is a regular performer in the bay area, having performed at The Punch Line in SF and Sacramento, Cobb's, Club Deluxe, and many more venues. His unique brand of stand up mixes stories, audio comedy, music, sketches and thoughts on being non-hispanic. His shows have been called "silly" and "fun" and that "he has a gift to tell a riveting story".
Brent Weinbach's stand-up comedy is weird. He does a lot of characters, he's physical, and his humor is absurd. Here are some other words to describe Weinbach: deadpan, silly, obscure, unconventional, smart, stupid, post-modern, grass roots, Berlin, 1980's, tennis, bike riding, Virgo, Rygar, etc. The list goes on and on. Brent began his comedy career in the underground San Francisco scene, but now tours all over the United States at clubs, colleges, festivals, theaters, music venues, living rooms, tennis, bike riding, Virgo, etc. He also has a t-shirt with his name and his face on it.
Brent was a winner and recipient of the Andy Kaufman Award at the HBO Comedy Festival, has toured with the Comedians of Comedy, appeared at the Coachella and Bumbershoot festivals as well as Just For Laughs in Montreal, and was the creator and star of the Super Deluxe web series "Weinbach in Wonderland."
Brendan Lynchis a rising star in the comedy scene in the bay area due to his quirky and funny sense of humor.
Mary Van Note might be described as a cross between Sarah Silverman and Pee Wee Herman. Her edgy and unique style of stand-up comedy has already been recognized by established comedians and media as a refreshing, hilarious and entirely jarring experience. Intimate, shocking, rude and strangely innocent, Mary's world is something to behold.
Janine Brito was born in Miami, FL to a Cuban father and a mother hailing from Alabama, Janine's life was an eclectic mix of backgrounds to say the least. Her move to stand-up comedy was a natural one after playing many comedic roles in university plays and sketch groups. She began her career in St. Louis where she's opened for many nationally touring acts. Witty, appealing and self-deprecating, Janine is a comic that both the old & cantankerous and the young & drunk will love.
Amir Malekpour is a Stand Comedian & Comedy Writer based in San Francisco. Amir's comedy ranges from intellectual to the absurd. Growing in a diverse family and educational background, his comedy has developed into a unique perspective that has been making audiences laugh in clubs and colleges. His mix of high energy, unique perspective, friendly nature, and smart writing cover such topics as family, relationships, arts, sciences, health, and everyday quirks.
Dj Specific spins tunes that are simaltaneously sweaty, pumping, fun and elastic. He not only has great taste in music but also a keen wit and works wonders in the kitchen. He is at every Romane Event playing his tunes before, during and after the show.
