Or, you have had the sides for 5 days, memorized inside and out, show up psyched and ready to nail it, sign in and realize: it is a completely NEW script!! The casting director hands you sides that you have never read before, expects you to look at the lines for a few minutes and then somehow, perform the scene brilliantly. That is a cold read. But it doesnt have to be a chilling experience! Practice and skill at cold readings can save you. Actor, improviser and comedian Paco Romane will teach you how to warm up to cold reads! You will learn how to communicate with fluency and clarity, and bring out the intent, mood and characterization of the script through appropriate articulation and body language. You will also learn how to block, relax, move, listen, react, be creative & receptive to ideas and most importantly, make choices!
